Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 2026

1. Our commitment

Scottish Accident is committed to making our website, claimant journeys, and support channels accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across our public site and authenticated portals.

Accessibility is part of how we design, build, and review our services so people can report claims, check updates, and contact us in the way that works best for them.

2. What we have done

  • Use semantic HTML and consistent heading structures across key pages
  • Add ARIA labels and accessible names where native text labels are not enough
  • Support keyboard navigation for forms, menus, and important actions
  • Design interfaces to work with screen readers and other assistive technology
  • Offer support for claim submission in 20 languages
  • Provide alternative claim submission methods, including phone-based assistance and staff support where digital access is difficult

3. Known limitations

We are continuing to improve accessibility across the service. Some older content or less frequently used workflows may still need refinement, particularly where complex claim data tables, uploaded media, or third-party integrations are involved.

If you encounter a barrier, we want to hear about it so we can investigate and make the necessary changes.

4. Alternative access and support

If you need help using our service or would prefer to complete part of your claim in a different format, contact us and we will work with you to provide a reasonable alternative.

If you are not satisfied with how we respond to an accessibility concern, you can seek further advice from the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
